Are you a seasoned corporate executive, HR leader, academic, social service professional or financial management expert with a heart for supporting family caregivers? Agewhale, a fast-growing social enterprise, is seeking dynamic individuals in Hong Kong to join our Pro Bono Board of Advisors and help us expand our impact.
Our Mission
Our mission at Agewhale is to empower and support both individuals and businesses in navigating the complexities of elder care. We provide personalized care planning for individuals and comprehensive workplace support for companies, bridging the gap between carers and essential resources. Our goal is to enable older persons to age well while supporting carers and fostering productive workplaces.
Our Vision
Make Caregiving a Positive Experience for All
Our Progress So Far Since its founding in July 2023, Agewhale has launched a multifaceted initiative to comprehensively support family caregivers in Hong Kong. With support from HKSTP and the SIE Fund, Agewhale has launched an innovative Care Compass mobile app prototype, which has received overwhelmingly positive feedback from beta testers. The organization has also offered free care planning and navigation services to over 20 families in our pilot program.
Beyond direct caregiver support, Agewhale is dedicated to raising awareness of the importance of caregiving preparation. We have reached over 2,200 individuals through in-person talks, workshops, and panel discussions. Agewhale's online resources have also reached over 25,000 readers, providing accessible information and tools to a wider audience. Agewhale's founder, Grace Cheng, has been invited to speak at numerous industry events, amplifying the urgency for caregiver-friendly workplaces. Her TEDx talk was featured in the global editor’s pick and has garnered close to 30,000 views in less than two months. We have been featured in SCMP and NowTV, and we anticipate two more interviews with TVB Pearl and ViuTV to be released this year.
Looking ahead, Agewhale has received funding from the HKEX Foundation to launch Hong Kong's first comprehensive Workplace Caregiver Support Pilot Program for corporate partners. This program also allows us to offer employment opportunities for former caregivers to reintegrate into the workforce as their caregiving responsibilities conclude.
